During the pandemic, we created a design and fabrication opportunity for our students by creating a new studio for Ohio State’s BuckeyeTV station. I identified an undergraduate designer, Evan Belsky, who had the research and design skills necessary, but very little experience drafting or modeling. I served as Evan’s Assistant Designer for the project, creating all the design materials while supporting his design process as his mentor. The new studio need to fit into the current space as well as the new building, so the design is sectional. The side platform can be moved to either side of the center unit and both can be removed entirely to open up the floor area. We incorporated LED lighting to accent many areas in the walls, columns and desk.
